Our Story

JJ Natural Curls was born from a personal journey of motherhood, self-love and reconnecting with natural beauty.

Founder Faryna’s journey began years ago after chemically relaxing her hair from the age of eleven. Over time, she became disconnected from her natural texture and had never truly experienced her own curls.

Everything changed when she became a mother.

When her daughter Jayda was born with a beautiful head full of hair that later developed into curls, something inside Faryna shifted. She realized she wanted her daughter to grow up loving and embracing her natural hair, while she herself was still relaxing her own.

That realization became a turning point.

Faryna began questioning how she could teach her children to love their natural curls while she had never fully embraced her own. When she later found out she was pregnant with her son Jace-Efron, she made the life-changing decision to stop relaxing her hair completely and begin her own natural hair journey.

From Personal Journey to Professional Care

At the same time, JJ Natural Curls was created as a curly hair salon and safe space for women, men and children with textured hair, especially Type 3 and Type 4 curls.

Through her salon, Faryna started helping people understand, care for and embrace their natural hair, including those transitioning from chemically treated hair back to their natural texture.

Through years of working closely with clients with Type 3 and Type 4 hair, Faryna developed products focused on the perfect balance of hydration, nourishment, definition and healthy curls, without drying out or weighing down the hair.

Introducing JJ ROOTED

This inspired the creation of JJ ROOTED, a carefully developed product line created to support textured hair through hydration, definition and healthy ingredients.

The name ROOTED represents going back to your roots — embracing your natural texture, identity, beauty and authenticity.

After more than two and a half years of developing, testing and refining, JJ ROOTED was finally born with one mission:

To help people feel rooted in confidence, rooted in self-love and rooted in healthy hair.
